DSF’s Summer Surf Fishing Slam Series 2 Results
It wasn’t too bad a day on the beach for flies I heard tell. This week was horrible so you all got a reprieve on that one. The bluefish have slacked off to be replaced by kingfish for the catch of the day this weekend for DSF’s Summer Surf Fishing Slam Series.
We had many fishing but not many catching. “I saw a lot of people out today but not too may people catching, then again I don’t think many around me were actually fishing. Horseshoe crabs and skates for the day. I did manage 2 undersized kingfish” … Jerry Dillon
There were anglers on all the beaches trying to get fish on the baord. We started early this morning with Michele Trotter submitting a 12 inch kingfish for 12 points. Then throughout the day catches would show up in messenger. There were burr fish being caught and they count in the Summer slam at 7 inches plus. A couple were scored today.
There were a lot of people catching small fish today, but at least they were catching. Amid the skate and horseshoe crab blitzes.
Michele Trotter “I worked hard today. Had so many shorts at 8, 9 and 10 inches. Caught a few short trout too. It was good to see them. Hard to believe the blues are absent already. Great day on the beach! ”
