Delaware Bee Keepers Beware

From the DDA April 10, 2019 … The Delaware Department of Agriculture is encouraging all beekeepers in the state to take extra precautions regarding the security of your colonies. We have received reports of alleged theft of honey bees in Sussex County – from entire colonies to just frames being taken. Make sure your colonies are not easily accessible, especially from the road, and make sure to mark/brand your equipment so it can be identified if found. If your colonies have been stolen or vandalized, please file a report immediately with the Delaware State Police and notify State Apiarist Meghan McConnell.
