The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Coastal
Flood Advisory, which is in effect from 5 PM this afternoon to
midnight EDT tonight.

  • LOCATIONS…Coastal areas of Southern New Jersey and Delaware
    and areas along Delaware Bay.
  • TIMING…High tide on the New Jersey and Delaware oceanfront
occurs between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM this evening. High tide on
the back bays and along Delaware Bay occur later than the high
    tide on the oceanfront.
  • COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS…Minor Flooding is anticipated around
the time of this evening`s high tide. Up to one foot of
saltwater inundation above ground level is possible in low-
lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. Localized
roadway flooding is expected. Some roads may closed due to high
    water.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Coastal Flood Advisory means that minor tidal flooding is
expected. Minor tidal flooding often results in some road
closures. Usually, the most vulnerable roadways will flood.

Do not leave your vehicle at a location that is prone to tidal
flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters. The
water may be deeper than you think it is. You will be putting
yourself in danger and your vehicle may be damaged, leading to
costly repairs.

Time of high total tides are approximate to the nearest hour.
