Charles W Cullen Bridge Lit Up Orange
DelDOT is throwing out their own colors on the Charles W Cullen bridge lights in recognition of Work Zone Safety Awareness week. This the politest way to say slow the hell down to motorists, in the road side work zones. We have tons of roadwork around Delaware and it gets frustrating. Let the workers have their space.
If you’ve never worked along a highway or road with cars ripping by at speed. I invite you to try it sometime, it is a pucker factor of twelve. I’d rather try to release an angry ten foot great white shark in the surf with one hand.
Keep a keen eye out for our DelDOT workers and crews, give them a big brake
National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW) is an annual spring campaign held at the start of construction season to encourage safe driving through highway work zones. The key message is for drivers to use extra caution in work zones. NWZAW will be held April 11-15 this year and will be hosted by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). The April 12 kickoff event will be live streamed for all to watch. Learn all about this year’s theme and schedule of events.
Yes we are aware our landscape shots are not always level, the earth is not flat.
