Cape Henlopen Fishing Pier Goes Topless

Cape Henlopen pier with all the decking removed

Recently we showed you the Cape Henlopen State Park fishing pier with about four hundred feet of the deck removed.  The other day I stopped by to see the progress and the crews have the entire deck removed. I am sure today’s weather put a damper on work.  The pier looks odd with all of the deck removed.  Under the boards it looks a lot different you can see a lot of detail you can’t see when it is in shadow.   So far the crews are on a good timeline and should have everything ready to go by the proposed date around the beginning of May.  I am sure Dave Beebe is excited to see this progress so he can get Lighthouse View Bait and Tackle opened back up this year.  We will keep you updated as progress continues and the crews put on the new decking.

Fish On!!
