
This was posted earlier this evening on the Little Creek Fire Company’s Facebook page. Big thanks to all the crews that worked this and the other boat this afternoon. Been a long day on the water for some people. These incidents are not related. How the boat sank has not been reported. Just good to see that all three on board are safe and sound.
” On Thursday 28 April 2016 at 1538 hours. Stations 54, 53, and 40 were alerted for an overdue vessel out of Port Mahon. It was reported last seen east of Port Mahon around noon and had 3 souls on board. Marine 40, 53 Marine 1, 54 Marine 1 and 54 Marine 3 responded. Additional responding units included ambulance A53, A55, DSP aviation, Kent County Paramedics, and DNREC. 54 Marine 1 made contact with the vessel, a 25 ft commercial fishing vessel, sunk stern down in the water with 3 souls clinging to the bow. After quick assessment, all 3 were able to be pulled on board Marine 1. All 3 were in good health with no injuries and taken ashore to awaiting EMS personal where they were treated and released. 53 Marine 1 was able to right the vessel, and tow it to the dock as well, where it was pumps out by fire crews and was turned over to owner.”
