Blood Moon 2022 The Full Beaver Moon Lunar Eclipse
That was the last full lunar eclipse until 2025. Every time it is a little different. I’ve been up every day for the Antares launch the past two days so getting up early for the blood moon wasn’t much of a problem. The fact I am ready to drop at 9 PM is a problem. Sleep is overrated right?
I got up at 4 am walked outside looked at the moon. You can tell by the glow that the shadow is about to cross the moon, I have 20 minutes to sleep more or head out. I’m sleeping. Wake up again, late, feed the dog and walk outside to get some last of the moon left sliver shots. It will turn orange red colors soon I need to get moving. That color is the sun’s light, as it passes through the atmosphere, everything but the red wavelenght is filtered out.
I just need to go around the corner so I have a view over the trees and set up the camera. Sounds simple right, shooting the moon is easy. Not so with a lunar eclipse. I don’t have a tracker. I got what I could, my Samsung S22ultra did well too.
