9.6 pound flounder, caught by Shaine Mann … photo from Fish WHisperer Charters

A 9.6 pound flounder was landed by angler Shaine Mann aboard Fish Whisperer Charters on Father’s Day.  So far that is the the biggest flounder of the 2016 season for Delaware and Maryland  A and B buoy action has been great.  There are some large quality flounder like this catch north of us off the coast of Jersey.  There have been a few flounder shredded by sharks on the retrieve, it happens.  The flounder action in the Lewes canal picked up over the weekend and the Roosevelt inlet area. The Katydid has been filling the table at Lewes Harbor Marina.

Some blues still hitting off the beaches chasing bunker, the ones that hit the beach yesterday at Herring Point in Cape Henlopen during the evening, the fish were thirty inches.  People who could reach the school were using spoons and landing fish.  Kingfish action has been good and the fish are either in the huge citation sizes or too small to make a meal.  Lots of skates, rays, sharks, spotted hake, and perch.   Some anglers are using the perch for cut bait and it is catching blues and scavengers.  Bluefish are hitting mulllet rigs here and there.  Should be a nice night on the beach to fish the full strawberry moon.

Fish On!!
