Town of South Bethany Beach (May 6, 2020) … Dear Property Owners:
Effective May 5 the restrictions on all beach activity will revert to modification #3 of the State Declaration of Emergency. This change allows people to use the beach for exercise or to walk their dogs, provided such persons follow the precautions recommended by the CDC on COVID-19, including hand hygiene and social distancing.
During the COVID crisis the Mayors of the Association of Coastal Towns (ACT) have met weekly to discuss the COVID crisis and the impact on each individual town. Recently the Governor asked this group to provide input on ways to open the beaches.
The goal of the group was to work together so that no one town would be inundated by crowds due to the action of another. The ACT letter will be posted on the Town’s website and discussed at the Town Council meeting on Friday, May 8.
Stay Safe and Stay Well.
Ocean City has decided they will be opening May 8th for residents to enjoy and exercise on the beaches.
