Beach conditions today

The water is clearing up and the beaches are smooth for the most part.  I did find some cool sea glass and a piece of an old plate while checking out one area.  The water was calm today with small waves, and holding bottom was easy with three ounces.  I didn’t catch anything and did a little casting.  This was at the bottom of the outgoing tide.  The birds were not working the inlet at all this afternoon.  I saw a couple of boats fishing here and there, but the out front fishing has been slow in some areas and hot in others you have to find the fish.  For the most part the striped bass are still moving south rather fast.  I am surprised I didn’t even catch a skate today or a dogfish.  There was a snowy owl spotted at Woodland beach area the past few days, and there are still three at Port Mahon.  I learned today the bufflleheads (ducks) just showed up the past few days at Roosevelt inlet and are apparently a favorite food for snowy owls.  Learn something new everyday.  You can see the beach pictures in the photo gallery below.  Have a great weekend.   No images found.
