Beach Clean Ups Are Back

A group of volunteers met Tuesday at 9 AM at Beach Plum Island State park and cleaned the beach. It was great to get back to this weekly project and see everyone again. It has been a tick or two since we last met in February.

Everyone had a great time, and we pulled a full bag of trash off the beach. Which was not as covered in trash as usual, that was nice to see. We took a picture at the end of the day like always, but with a twist. Everyone social distanced as per the park rules. People not from the same household must social distance or wear a mask. We had no issues cleaning the beach and keeping everyone safe.

Next Tuesday we will meet at 9 AM at point comfort station crossing in Cape Henlopen State Park. We provide buckets for collecting trash but you can bring your own. Bring gloves, we are not providing them right now. We use actual gloves that we normally provide and wash between clean ups, not the disposable kind since they are single use items. Which is a majority of the trash on our beaches.
