As of right now Cape Henlopen State Park has the Point, Herring Point, and Gordons Pond open to drive on. Beach Plum Island State Park is also open, but the tide is washing up rather far on the beach there. Delaware Seashore State Park and Fenwick Island are still closed for drive on access. The parking lots are open and you can walk on and fish.
Anglers fishing Herring point and Gordons Pond are catching short striped bass and small red drum on the surf. It may be nasty out but fish eat all the time and don’t mind the rain. Just watch high tide later tonight if you stay out that late. Also be careful of high tide tomorrow morning. Hopefully the next couple of tides are the last we have to worry about. Well, until the storm surge from hurricane Mathew or the storm itself hits later this week. We are watching that closely.
Fish On!
