The Rehoboth Outfall passed yesterday in Rehoboth by only 31 votes.  What has boggled my mind is the fact the town needs at least six more permits, and yet managed to borrow money for a project that they really don’t have the actual permission to go forward with.  The federal government will still have to approve the project and do their own EIS, Environmental Impact Survey.  If all goes as big government goes, it will not be approved, and take forever.    Big thanks to everyone who voted no, I was surprised how few people actually voted compared to those that could vote.  HUGE props to Dominic Ragni for standing in the harsh weather all day holding a sign that said vote no.  I wanted to join him, but was tied up with work and meetings all day.  The Surfrider Foundation has been at the forefront fighting this outfall project.  I have yet to get any anglers involved though it seems many do care.  I don’t think I have ever heard anyone say the Bethany Outfall is a hotspot for fishing, in fact I have heard the opposite.  Someday the hot bait in front of Rehoboth will be peanuts and corn.  With all the water problems we are having on this planet it just seems incredibly irresponsible to pump fresh water that could be reused into the ocean.  I guess we will all see how things progress from here.  Meanwhile waste water will still be pumped into the Lewes canal for years to come.  Epic Fail.  Maybe the town should have considered pumping all that waster water into the pools they don’t want anyone to use.  Just sayin.

Fish On!!
