“You can’t get it, if it can’t find you.” That was heard at a recent town hall meeting. “If we can’t be found, no one will come here and bring their virus with them.”
It seemed like a logical idea, just about as logical as any of the decisions made thus far nationwide. How does a beach town hide in the spring to quarantine for a pandemic? Change our name?
On Tuesday workers began repainting the water tower and changing the name to “Chinoteague.”
“It isn’t that creative, but we are on a tight budget, ‘sides people don’t read anymore anyway. Honestly, we can only afford the one letter. We just need the virus to not be able to find the town.”
All joking aside beach towns are all looking at issues for visitors. One being that visitors are an issue right now. Especially too many at one time. People are going to need to be prepared for that fact. The beaches aren’t going to just open back up like they were in the past, or just last year.
