Watch Your Surroundings On The Outgoing Tides

Boat Beached At The Flats Of Cape Henlopen State Park On Labor Day Weekend

(Sept 2019) …Over Labor Day weekend this boater ran out of water real fast. Blow out tides in the flats will get skinny quick. Not only beached but in the closed section for shorebirds. That is a phone book of tickets waiting to happen.

We worry about higher tides flooding the beaches and stranding our vehicles. I am not even sure how you let this happen. We do get the occasional Tesla stuck in the sand, and as of late that Jeep in Myrtle Beach is now famous. The summer is not over yet.

Granted we are in second summer or locals summer, there are still plenty of people that visit this time of year. Some folks skip the entire summer at the beach, just so they can visit this time of year. Be safe and smart out there, watch your surroundings.
