Shark Cages for Beach Goers Hit the OBX
Every once in a while you see something online that is unbelievable. For those of you not on social media this picture is going viral in the community. Apparently some folks at the Outer banks have made a shark proof cage for swimmers. You can’t make this stuff up and this is a real picture. There is even a video circulating showing these folks walking into the water to demonstrate the cages. A lifeguard stops them from continuing into the water but not before they get into the first wave. That wave about wiped them out and knocked them down. In the past couple of days I have seen a lot of ridiculous posts about sharks near the beaches, but this one definitely wins the internet for the week and the week isn’t over yet. Fox news even put out a live report … “Fox’s Brian Kilmeade: Why aren’t we ‘clearing the waters’ of sharks so ocean swimming is safe?” Yes you can’t make that up either. I am just blown away by the ignorance of some people when it comes to sharks and the fact they live in the ocean. It is not like they are running up on land and attacking people or raiding trash cans for food. Landsharks are a whole different breed and are usually found in nightclubs and bars. If you are going into the ocean to swim just keep in mind you are in the sharks territory, not the other way around. If you really feel you need one of thee cages let me know, I am sure we can get one made for you, or just use the tomato cages out of my garden.
