New Jersey sets First Ever Flounder Slot Limit On The Atlantic Coast

New Jersey Marine Fisheries Council Set The Summer Flounder Season With A Slot Limit.

The New Jersey summer flounder season is May 2 to September 27th.
A three fish possession limit with a slot. Two fish at 17 to 17.99 inches (yes you read that right), and one fish at 18 inches or greater.
That is a pretty slim slot for a flat fish, but I get it, two fish at 17 to 17.99 inches, but not at or over 18. Then you get to keep a third bigger summer flounder at 18 and over. Good luck on the slot size on ice, good grief. Measuring to the .99, get the net and calipers boys.
Might want to carry the fish alive till you get home.

Thinking this could kill ocean flounder tournaments at least in New Jersey waters.
