The full moon on the 12th of July is not a super moon

full moon, lunar perigee, july super moon, The full moon on the 12th of July is not a super moon. However you can expect slightly higher tides and people to be more emotional.  Which is the norm for Facebook and most social media these days.  A super moon is when the moon is closest to the earth so it looks bigger in the sky. It is known as the Lunar perigee, which will be the August full moon next month.  This month’s full moon is known as, the Full Buck Moon.  July is normally the month when the new antlers of buck deer push out of their foreheads in coatings of velvety fur. It was also often called the Full Thunder Moon, for the reason that thunderstorms are most frequent during this time. Another name for this month’s Moon was the Full Hay Moon.  So have a fun weekend with a the full moon, it is great time to do night fishing especially on the beach you can see so much better.
