Coastal Flood Advisory For Sussex County Till Monday
Oct 1, 2022 … Sussex County is in a flood advisory, that means it is going to flood but not bad enough for a warning (yet). The inland bays are stacked with water and full. Each high tide will get a little worse. Monday night’s high tide should be the highest over normal.
We are looking to at least Tuesday morning for higher than usual water. High tide is 1:30 AM tonight, and 2:23 PM tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon. It is not going to stop blowing, mixed with off and on rain for a bit (days).

THROUGH MONDAY EVENING…
WHAT…For the Coastal Flood Advisory, up to one foot of
inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near
shorelines and tidal waterways. For the Coastal Flood Watch,
one to two feet of inundation above ground level possible in
low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
WHERE…Cape May County in New Jersey and Sussex County in
Delaware.
WHEN…For the Coastal Flood Advisory, until 6 AM EDT Monday.
For the Coastal Flood Watch, from Monday morning through
Monday evening.
IMPACTS…With moderate tidal flooding, widespread roadway
flooding occurs in coastal and bayside communities and along
inland tidal waterways. Many roads become impassable. Some
damage to vulnerable structures may begin to occur.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Coastal flooding may linger into Tuesday.
Time of high total tides are approximate to the nearest hour.
