FRANKFORD (March 27, 2015) – The access road to Mulberry Landing Boat Ramp on Assawoman Wildlife Area near Bethany Beach will be partially closed periodically over the next two to three weeks for boat ramp improvements including bulkhead replacement, DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife announced today.

Mulberry Landing’s 100-foot wooden bulkhead is being replaced with a new aluminum sheeting bulkhead, and floating docks will be reinstalled after expansion of the boat ramp approach and tie-down area is completed. The project is expected to be complete, with full access restored, by Friday, April 10, weather permitting.

During construction, Mulberry Landing Road will be open as far as the turn-off for Sassafras Landing, which will be open to launch small boats. Memorial Pond will be open for fishing with access by foot, and parking along Mulberry Landing Road near the Sassafras Landing Road intersection.
