Scotton Landing Fishing Pier to close Nov. 2-13 for re-decking project
DOVER (Oct. 28, 2015) – Public access to the Scotton Landing Fishing Pier on Barkers Landing Road near Dover will be closed from Monday, Nov. 2 through Friday, Nov. 13, DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife announced today.
The closure will allow the contractor to remove and replace the existing wooden deck and handrails. The fishing pier was originally built in 1986 and has become a popular fishing and crabbing attraction with local residents and visitors to the tidal St. Jones River along the southbound side of Route 1.
The project is expected to be complete, with full access restored, by Saturday, Nov. 14, weather permitting. Access to the parking lot and boat ramp at Scotton Landing will be unaffected.
