Rehoboth Lewes Canal Water Hazard Large Tree In Water

Rehoboth Lewes Canal Water Hazard Large Tree In The Water

There is a large tree in the water in the Lewes canal, yes, an entire tree. Roughly halfway between Lewes and Rehoboth. We do not have an exact location, nor a source. The coast guard let us know about this today and they are doing their usual protocol for these issues, and asked us to put it out there as well.

There is not a schedule to remove this tree. I’m not sure how that works, I know DNREC, will remove a tree hanging into the water from land. If it is blocking a water way. Not sure how this works in the case of a runaway floating tree. When we know more we will let you know. In the mean time be on the look out for this tree if you are running the Lewes Canal.
