This morning a single engine plane made an emergency landing on a Ocean City beach in New Jersey. Only the pilot was in the plane and he walked away uninjured. The plane kind of landed okay in the heavy loose sand. Not like you can air down first.
It is unclear why the emergency landing was made according to police. The plane landed on the 49th Street beach around 8:35 a.m. Saturday morning. This will be investigated by the FAA< then the plane will be removed form the beach.
This is not the first plane to land on a Jersey beach or a Delaware Beach. Couple of years ago a plane landed on a Jersey beach and about three years ago one landed at Cape Henlopen in the closed Plover section at Gordons Pond.
