Small mullet are around the inland bays near the grass lines. Look in the usual places. Few throws of a cast net and you will get enough for a day in the surf. This will just get better as the summer progresses. Whole mullet is great for bluefish on mullet rigs, but fillets of fresh is good to use whole or as pieces of cut bait. Whole fillets on surf rigs, or the small pieces on top and bottom rigs. Hooking a whole mullet through the eyes with a six aught circle hook on a surf rig is efficient to keep it on the hook .
