Mary Lee Pings Off Assateague Island

Mary Lee pings off Assateague Island on Oct 14

Mary Lee dropped by the Eastern shore early this morning.  She likes to visit our coast line and do a little fishing and who could blame her we have such a diverse amount of life, or in her case, food out there.  Always exciting to see her ping off the coastline and follow her on these journeys.  In the past forty eight hours she has pinged nineteen times.  In order for her tag to register a good ping she has to be surfaced for a certain amount of time.    According to OCEARCH she will ping more when migrating than when she is foraging (feeding).  The question now researchers are wondering is will she complete her loop by returning to Cape Cod.

Fish On!!
