If you haven’t seen this over the past year and watched it get worse and worse. The corner at the inlet on the north side is not only closed, but disappearing. Some of our favorite rocks to stand on and fish are gone for good, sitting on the bottom of the inlet most likely. Probably next to the old bridge, big rocks, and a few cars. The rocks have fallen into the inlet from rough storm surge.
The Army Corp Of Engineers is responsible for the Indian River Inlet and jetty. The jetty cap is also their territory. Recently they evaluated this area and are supposed to come up with a game plan in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully this gets fixed soon. Stay tuned!
