Hurricane Dorian Winds Arrive In Delaware

All that wind outside is from the first bits of Dorian to reach Delaware. A small craft advisory is in place until tonight, expect that to increase. Windy days into the weekend, so far Saturday looks like nice weather, with gigantic waves.

Rain chances will increase as the day progresses into Friday. Tomorrow the worst of Hurricane Dorian is predicted for Delaware. Unless she wobbles and heads closer in our direction then these conditions will increase. We will be under tropical storm conditions, not hurricane, but northeast winds will be an issue.

High tide is around noon today and the beaches already look like it is high tide with storm surge and wind. It is dead low tide right now, expect water to reach the dune lines. I don’t expect parks to close the drive on beaches, but you never know. Keep your eye on the tide. All of this is expected to lay down Sunday so long as Hurricane Dorian stays on her current track.

With all these north east winds expect the beaches to take a large erosion hit. Almost like two weeks ago when that northeast swell and wind ate the the beaches. Leaving behind a four foot drop off carved into several beaches. Expect coastal flooding around the inland bays in the usual spots.
