Gauging Angler Perceptions of Shark Fishing in Delaware

Controlling a Sand tiger to remove the hook on Saturday July 9th … Cody Gallien

Good morning Rich,

I am a graduate student of Dewayne Fox at Delaware State University and for part of my thesis I am administering a survey to recreational anglers to gauge angler perceptions of shark fishing in Delaware. We hope to assess angler perceptions with regard to shark conservation and management in Delaware waters with an emphasis on prohibited shark species such as Sandbar and Sand Tiger Sharks (which are sometimes called “brown” sharks). This study will help to improve our understanding of possible risks to sharks, identify potential solutions to those risks, and offer insights into angler willingness to comply with management measures.
Thank you very much,
Symone Johnson
