Fish Gut Friday

TGIF!
Yesterday sitting at my desk and having a poopy lip over the weather forecast for the weekend and thinking it will be a wash out, I saw a post from Fenwick bait and tackle of a beautiful striper ! That was enough to get me motivated to get the Jeep packed and ready for some Friday fishing.
This morning I headed out with the idea this might not last to long weather wise. Headed to Cape I arrived to an incoming tide with some dirty water . Nothing on the incoming, but when the tide turned , the breeze went slightly east , the water cleared up, and some nice king fish started hitting on a top bottom rig with some fish bites on the hook.
I was very pleased to reel in a nice handful of king fish, most being a good size . They were lucky I already had dinner plans , so they were kissed released to be caught another day. Summer fishing can be fun and relaxing, like a romance . I am happy to see king fish , and hoping to see some spot and croaker soon .
Bait fish and birds were back and forth in front of me all day. I tried to snag or catch with my casting rod #spellbound from PC RODS most of the day with no luck. This guy from DSF parked next to me and first cast snagged a nice bunker…..whatever.
Over all it was a nice day on the beach , not many people , fish were caught, east breeze , and had the company of good friends.
On the subject of friends , I want to remind everyone of the March of Dimes fundraiser next Sat at the Hawk Watch parvillion on CHSP starting at 11am , with drawings for some really great prizes at about 4pm . Come out and enjoy some great company of the Reel Friends that host this event annually for a worthy cause . Burgers and snacks are provided, bring your own drinks and the family for a great time and a chance to win some great prizes, there is something for everyone at this event. DSF has donated some t-shirts and sweat shirts, and that is only the beginning of the list of prizes that you can enter to win! I have personally attended this many years and always have a great time, and won some fun prizes ! Hope to see many friends old and new there.
I also hope to kiss a few more fish this weekend, regardless of the weather!
Kiss on,
Suzanne Martin
