And the weekly winners are ….
We are into week three of the DSF’s Summer Surf Fishing Slam Series and we have a few people on the board. The first week was slow for anglers catching qualifying fish. Suzanne Martin took first and only place for week one with an eleven inch kingfish. Putting her in the lead for week one and overall. The wind can stop blowing any year now.
Week two we had many anglers trying for fish, but only a few made the board. One surf angler, Joe Miller, dominated the boards with several fish racking up seventy-eight points. Those summer catches, kingfish, spot, croaker, and pufferfish can really rack up points when you get into them. Picking your day can be hit or miss as many surf anglers found out the past two weeks.

Basically anglers fish one day Tuesday to Sunday, and score their fish per the rules. We changed the days this week for DSF’s Summer Surf Fishing Slam Series week three. Mondays are no longer a fishing day for week four. I mean who likes Mondays anyway?
Below are the weekly winners listed as well as the overall. Anglers win weekly prizes and compete for a total or overall score for the end of the tourney in October. We add their weekly scores up. One would be amazed how easy it is to start this mid summer and still place or even win. Get in and Send It!

Prizes consist of surf fishing tackle donated by DS Custom Tackle and a ridiculous amount of Fishbites, all kinds of flavors, donated by Fishbites. Normally we meet and give out weekly prizes at a local restaurant, but sue to the current situation. We are mailing everyone’s prizes. Internet for the win!
