This pontoon is jammed up on a pier in White House beach off Long Neck Road. Fishing Kev said it looked like a rope snapped. He and some friends will see if they can fix this for the owner later when the tide comes back up if the boat floats back off the pier, good looking out for a neighbor. Check your boats gang, if you are out of town call whomever pulls your boat or a friend to check it for you. We still have a week of heavy winds and high water. Parking the boat so it is on the lee side of a pier will help shield it from wind and storm surge. Water pushing up against a boat can be a disaster. Not only can it fill with water but the waves can slam it into the pier constantly causing major damage. I do know a few boat companies were a bit busy last week pulling boats, I am betting dollars to donuts they will be very busy this week. Higher tides form the full moon will add to this issue the next couple of days. We are now watching a storm in the Gulf off the coast of Florida that will create more wind and storm surge for the end of this week, especially if it moves back out to sea after crossing the lower eastern states. Depending on the storm path, will govern the strength of the winds and storm surge.
Fish On!!
