Maryland DNR is looking for information about thirteen dead bald eagles found recently on a Caroline County farm. “Please help us solve a mystery. Thirteen dead bald eagles were found Saturday on a farm and in a woods in Federalsburg. It is the largest concentration of dead bald eagles in Maryland in three decades. The investigation is a joint effort with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. There’s a $10,000 reward being offered for information leading to the resolution of this incident. This is the largest amount of dead bald eagles Maryland has had in over 30 years. The last was in 1980 and involved 8 birds. Federal authorities and a group of nonprofit organizations are offering the reward. The Humane Society of the United States and the Humane Society Wildlife Land Trust offered a reward of up to $5,000. The Phoenix Wildlife Center Inc., a wildlife rehabilitation center for raptors, songbirds and small mammals, and federal wildlife authorities are each offering $2,500. All of the birds found are being tested for a cause of death.
