Lewes, DE — The 21st annual Special Olympics Delaware Families Day at the Beach was held Sept. 15 at Cape Henlopen State Park. The event was organized by Rehoboth Beach resident Janie Miller and more than 200 family members and volunteers came out to enjoy the activities. Special Olympics athletes took part in a fishing tournament sponsored by the Delaware Mobile Surf Fishermen Association. After the tournament a picnic lunch for families and volunteers was hosted by the Rehoboth Kiwanis, Rising Sun Masonic Lodge #4,  Rehoboth Lions Club, students from Eagle’s Nest School and former Cape Henlopen High School students.

  Glad to see the kids out having a good time in our parks.  The Special Olympics of Delaware is a great organization.  Look for DSF at the Polar plunge this year.
