Indian Mission Road has Heavy Damage

Indian Mission road has been closed all night due to water crossing the road and eroding away the shoulder.  The water eroded so much away and out from under the road it has collapsed on the shoulder section.  Hopefully this will be a quick fix, but in the mean time the road is closed.  We will let you know when it will be open again…

Well if you haven't heard or seen by now, we are having a little weather. Route 1 is closed from Dewey to Bethany beach due to high tide and rain run off covering the road.  Hopefully it opens abck up soon and stays open, but I would expect it to close again tonight like last night.  Route 24 is backed for days due to the detour.  …

Flood Update

There is water in places people have never seen water before. The buildup is from heavy rain, coupled with the fact it can't drain from the saturated ground.  Also the water can't drain into the overflowing bays and waterways due to the tide being so high.  Oak Orchard is flooded all up and down River road, most of this is rain water…

Route 1 Floods From Rain

Route 1 above route 16 is flooded in some low spots.  Until the water drains off it will remain flooded.  Just use caution, expect low lying areas to flood at high tide form run off and higher than normal tidal waters.  There are small ponds in a lot of fields and will take a while to drain.   Some areas were hit with five inches of…

That deluge kept the whole county up last night, wow!  The coastal flood advisory is on until eleven tonight.  We are looking at water to the dunes at the beaches during high tide this morning and evening.
