Cooler Weather Makes For Better Fishing

The water temperatures have dropped a little thanks to this milder weather.  You can actually enjoy fishing in the mid afternoon now.  Totally digging the cooler nights and so is my power bill.  The ditch (masseys) dropped five degrees over the last few days, almost a degree each tide change.  Now it is fluctuating between…

Weekend Is Going To Be Much Cooler

More new fish to add to the list for the summer.  Small thresher sharks are hitting in the surf.  Rumor has it a large thresher shark breached in front of a lot of swimmers at Cape Henlopen State Park over the weekend and caused quite a stir.  Redfish are around the Assawoman bay.  Lot of bluefish in the surf, small but fun to catch.…

Full Sturgeon Moon

Tonight is the Full Sturgeon Moon.  Given that name because this is the month sturgeon were the big catches on the Great Lakes and other major bodies of water during the month of August for North American tribes.  When the moon rises it appears reddish, especially if the sky is hazy which it usually is in August.  So some tribes gave…
