Posted today by the Guy Harvey Foundation … A mako shark tagged in May off Ocean City, MD as part of the Guy Harvey Research Institute‘s ongoing shark tagging & tracking study has been landed near N. Falmouth, MA.

The #GuyHarvey Ocean Foundation is offering a $1,000 reward for the return of the tag. Please direct information and inquires to greg@guyharvey.com, or use the contact information on the tag.

To date, approximately 30% of the makos tagged byNova Southeastern University‘s GHRI have been killed in the NW Atlantic, illustrating the tremendous fishing pressure on this species.

Hope they get the tag back always good to be able to reuse them and to collect data.  That tag is now worth more than the shark, or the cost of the trip to catch one.
