Swimming advisory for Prime Hook to Slaughter Beach
DNREC has announced a swimming advisory for Prime Hook to Slaughter beach north of Milton Delaware. Heavy rainfall may have caused heavy bacteria levels due to run off. The will keep monitoring the water levels until the water is safe for swimmers. All of you surf anglers up there, I would avoid wading the water and wear boots if you are near the surf. Fishing tends to create a situation of prolonged exposure to this water, which is part of surf fishing. Also be wary fo any fish or crabs you catch and clean them well. This happens a lot these days with rain run off unfortunately. Sometimes other factors are involved.
