Public Comment Sought on Proposed Improvements to Cape Henlopen State Park’s Campground

The campground at Cape Henlopen State Park will close in September for renovations that are expected to include:
  • Reduction of asphalt
  • Installation of landscaping
  • Creation of back-in, pull-through and pop-up RV sites
  •  Installation of electric service
  • Vehicular circulation improvement and paths linking the bathhouses within the campground
  • Construction of a camp store with laundry and utility sinks

Completion of these renovations is scheduled for May 2017. Members of the public are invited to comment on the proposed plans either in person, online, or by mail.

Participate In Person:
Attend the public open house to review renovation plans and provide comments to DNREC program staff. The open house will be held at Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes, Delaware, in the Officer’s Club/Youth Camp 3 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 21.

Participate Online/By Mail:
Those who are unable to attend in person may view the documents online and provide their comments either through an online survey or by downloading and mailing a comment form. The downloadable comment form and the online survey are currently available at
destateparks.com/CapeCampgroundOpenHouse.
Other documents that will be displayed at the open house will also be available at the same web address by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, March 21.
