How Does This Even Happen?

(July 28, 2018) … About twenty minutes ago this Tesla, that’s right a Tesla, drove onto the beach in Cape Henlopen State Park. “It is stuck up to the rockers, I don’t see any fishing equipment either”.  Isn’t this like a $100,000 vehicle??  More dollahs than cents.  Most likely he realized too late you can’t turn around on the sand, or his GPS tried to take him down the Lewes Rehoboth highway.  You can’t get there from here.

I don’t know how many times I have stopped people about to pull onto a beach access road in a car.  They always looked confused, “What do you mean we can’t go this way?” … “Sir, you are about to drive onto the sand and beach, there isn’t a parking lot down here, you are going to get stuck, you need to turn around”.

Parks need more signs that are obviously easier to read.   Those big brown signs in the bushes are not cutting it.   Maybe a large orange and yellow one with nuclear warning signs on them that has “Danger Will Robinson” written on it??!!  Then again these might be the type of people who have to touch when it says wet paint.

This is why I mow the grass on the weekends. Amazing that these guys aired down and drove that Tesla off the beach. We have never seen that happen before.

Since this was written parks has installed large red signs (in 2019) to warn people, now we just need to teach people to read signs and we are golden.
