Foggy Tuesday Morning Conditions

(Sept 11) … SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY …  It is really foggy this morning.  The seas are calming down, but we will have higher than normal waves for the rest of the week.  The wind will start out of the east on Wednesday and continue for the rest of the week.  You still need to be careful out there with the deeper swales and possible rip currents.  The surf zone or wash is still very wide and will be the rest of the week.

Despite the fact Florence will hit the Carolinas most likely, the conditions we are going to see are literally the same if not worse than what we just went through.  Heavy east winds and big waves.  Basically the same things will occur, inland bay flooding, beach erosion, and a lot of ponding water on roadways.  It would be a good idea to get things ready for those conditions this week.  Also be ready for downed lines when we see these conditions.  The ground is saturated.   Trees blowing over is a good possibility.  Flooding will be an issue from heavy rain, there isn’t anywhere else that can hold water.
