Delmarva Outdoors Expo Has Something For Everyone
The first annual Delmarva Outdoors Expo will be held on April 28th to the 30th at the state fairgrounds in Harrington, Delaware. Darrell Meade wanted to organize an outdoors show in the area and he has hit a home run. “I wanted to do something on the scale of the Harrisburg show for this area, we have always needed a show like this. Delmarva is a wealth of outdoor activities that many haven’t experienced. With this expo we can bring the outdoors experience to them.”
With the help of Andy Kitzrow and Rich King the owner of Delaware Surf Fishing the organizers have been extremely busy getting everything arranged to bring you the best outdoors show Delmarva has ever seen. “This expo will have a “festival” atmosphere that all ages will enjoy. Families are not only welcome but encouraged to come and experience the outdoors together” … Darrell Meade
We have a variety of food trucks as well as a huge grill being brought in by Spicer Bros. Construction our presenting sponsor. They will have several renowned chefs to cook for the crowd.
WBOC will be on site with Outdoors Delmarva to film many of the presentations and the expo.
Dave Wilson will hold a consignment gun auction on Friday night starting at 7 PM, and a RV boat, and outdoor gear auction on Saturday at 11 AM .
Dave Wilson will also be auctioning off four Delaware State Park Surf Fishing numbered tags. two on Friday and two on Saturday for a total of four plates.

We have added a gun show in the Dover building with a lot of area dealers and a display of old time firearms from Charlie Steel’s gun shop in Harbeson. If you haven’t visited Steele’s gun shop you have no idea what you are missing and can see a lot of history at the Delmarva Outdoors Expo. DNREC will have their game theft trailer in the Dover building with our gun show vendors. We will also have many area taxidermists displaying their craft.
The Dock Dogs will be holding a three-day competition in a pool on location. There are bleachers for the crowd to enjoy the show.
The First State Retriever Club will do a few demonstrations in the small pond near the Quillin Arena.
The Saltwater Fly Anglers of Delaware will be teaching fly casting for a few hours on Saturday.
Delaware Surf Fishing’s owner Rich King with special guest Harry Aiken will be demonstrating surf fishing and surf casting on the main stage.
The Delaware State Police will do a dog demonstration how the dogs are used to subdue perpetrators. This is always an exciting and educational demonstration.
Red Mountain Chainsaw Carving Artist will be on site carving with a chainsaw all 2 days.
Finley Jones (Duck Calling Champion) will do a calling demonstration on the main stage.
Hawg Troughs is bringing a giant “fish” tank full of bass to demonstrate casting, catching, and tackle techniques. We have several local bass anglers that will participate in these demonstrations. Showing off new gear and techniques. Also featuring …. Captain Jaime Hughes, owner and operator of BreakLine Charters. BreakLine Charters has been putting people on fish of all experience levels for years and making memories that last a lifetime. This is your chance to see Captain Jaime, and learn how to CATCH YOUR OWN RIVER MONSTER!
The World Championship Punkin Chunkin Association will have an air cannon on display and vending their apparel.
A 3D archery display and competition by CJ Winks archery is open to anyone who would like to compete. Participants will need to bring their own bows and arrows for the competition.The 3D archery competition is going to be a national competition. The shooting classes will be Traditional, Youth, Female, Men’s Hunter, and Men’s Open. The Youth and Female classes will be shoot what you bring. Day one and Day two will be qualifying rounds. Archers can shoot as many rounds as you want, but must pay for each round. The top five scores from each class will participate in a shoot off on Sunday. Each class must have ten shooters to qualify for a shoot off. You must start your round no later than one hour before the show closes. Cost per round: Youth class under 16-$15. All other classes are $20, but ESAA members will only pay $10. There will be a NASP 3D shoot for the kids.
The Delmarva Outdoors Expo advanced tickets are now on sale. The event is April 28th 29th, and 30th at the state fairgrounds in Harrington, Delaware. Daily and weekend passes will also be available at the event. Daily tickets are $5 and weekend passes are $10. If you purchase tickets online in advance you will receive a bonus. Advance weekend passes will receive ten tickets for the Door Prize Drawings. Advance day passes will receive five tickets for the door prize drawings. Weekend passes purchased the day of the event (Friday) will receive three tickets for the door prize drawings, and daily passes will receive one ticket for the door prize drawings. There will be a large variety of door prizes given out over the weekend from our vendors and donations.
