Big Wind Big Waves Sunday Funday

GALE WARNING …  If they haven’t already I would expect parks to close the drive on beaches.  You certainly don’t want to drive out there right now.  You can’t get on the beach when it is full of water. If this were striped bass season I would say go fishing but it isn’t.  High tide is at 9 AM we are two hours out and Rehoboth has water reaching the dune line.. Curious to see how Bethany holds up.  We will have high surf for the rest of the week.  Seas are up today, great day for wave pictures.

Rehoboth beach 7:15 AM Sunday Sept 9th

Stay off the beach and out of the water in his rough surf unless you have experience.  Swales (tide pools) will form and they have quick like sand.  Not to mention you never know how deep they are and you can get jammed up fast.  There are people walking up and down north side beach right now in the high surf line.  A heavy wave can wash your feet right out from under you and pull you into the surf wash.  Rip currents will be a serious issue through the week.

Be careful out there.  Te inland bays flowed over docks last night, I expect it to get worse this morning and on tonight’s high tide.  If you were planning on pulling your boat for Florence you might want to get to that.   Rehoboth might want to think about getting that shed off the beach.

Fish On!
