Adkins Produce 32008 Long Neck rd. local farm fresh produce

Adkins Produce is located, 32008 Long Neck Rd., Long Neck, DE 302-945-9700.  Just off of route 24, headed towards Massey’s Landing.  When I asked David Godwin how long they have been in business, he answered since 1975, before I was born.  That must be tough running a store before you were born.  Adkins Produce is a family owned and operated business.  All produce is locally grown, except the candy counter.  They make their own sausage, scrapple, and farm fresh eggs are always available.  Fresh “canned” bread and butter pickles, garlic cloves, and honey.  Everything in the store coincides with the seasons, from the vegetables to the holidays.  Mums galore is the word, gourds, pumpkins and the like for fall decorations.  They will have fresh turkeys for Thanksgiving, and Christmas.  Fruit baskets and Christmas trees will be available after turkey day.  The store is seasonal and closes on December 23rd, reopening about mid April.  The store hours for the fall are  M-F 11 – 6, Sat. 9 – 6, and closed on Sunday.  Summer hours are 7 days a week 9 – 7 M – Sat. and 9 – 5 on Sunday.

On October 13th there will be a Fall Festival at Adkins Produce, with a Hay Maze, Pumpkin Painting, Stuff a Scarecrow, and a moon bounce for the kids. Refreshments will be provided by the local Boy Scout Troop.  Drop in, and check out Adkins Produce this weekend for the festival, or the next time you are headed to Massey’s Landing.  the store will also have deals for our Star Angler Discount card holders.  This is a great place to get all your farm fresh vegetables.  They also have really neat yard, or garden decorations made from landscape ties.  Tractors, train engines, dump trucks, wells, swings, baskets, black silhouette cut outs, and wagons.  There are all kinds of really interesting items for sale on display in the yard.  They even have hay bales and corn stalks for your fall holiday displays.  The cherry cider is incredible.  There is always something new for the season at Adkins Produce.
